ok, im 17 years old, turning 18 in sep.
my problems at homeare unbearable! i have a mother who makes my life a living hell.
i want to , and need to, move out of my house.i have aplace to go, andi still plan to go to school i am currently looking for a job.
i want to know if i can leave my house with out the police making me go home. i also want to know if i decide to leave can i move to my bf's (fiance) house?..hes 19 turning 20 on sep.11, but by then i'll be 18.
can he get in to trouble? or can the person i decide to live with get in trouble?
my mom said that she would do anything in her "power" to get the person i go with in trouble.

But I can tell you that when you are 18, you can live wherever you like. Until then, you are under your mother's control and cannot move out without her permission. Yes, she could get the person you were living with in trouble.

17 is a gray area.... your parents are responsible for your actions... for example, if you steal a car, drive it into someone home your parents would have to pay for it..... on the other hand at 17 your parents have no more say over how they control your life.... you can move out... not anything they can do about it!

That is silly. There are only a few states that allow a 17 year old to move out, and Texas isn't one of them.

If she moves out, she will be returned as a runaway.

If she wants to shack up with her "fiancee", she should wait until she is legal.
