I need some advice i live in florida. I was hit by an ambulance Tuesday Morning on my way to work. The ambulance did not have on their lights they were transporting a patient from one facility to another but no sirens nor lights were turned on and the ambulance driver completely ignored or "did not know the no left turn signs were on the road she was turning from." the first thing the highway patrol did was went across the street to verify the sign was still there and they were. there was not just one sign there was four. but at the same tiem the highway patrol said yes it was the ambulance drivers fault but would not give her a ticket. and at the time i thought i was physically alright but my mother had to take me into the ER that night becuase my neck and head were hurting so bad and i found out i have cervical strain. now everyone keeps telling me to get a lawyer and sue the county what do you think.

You need to get a copy of the accident report. Contact your auto insurer and file a claim and they will file a claim against the county in your stead. This is a fast way to get assistance. Another approach is to hire an attorney who will approach the county and/or their insurer for the same things that you would get from your auto insurer if you file a claim against them. It is your choice. Sometimes, folks are left in the position of having to sue their own insurance company and the faulty party's insurer. Sometimes, if there is inadequate coverage, you will likely have to sue your own insurer to get uninsured/underinsured coverage. The biggest issue with the county ambulance is if they are self-insured, which could make recovery time-consuming and a little complicated. You can try it yourself, but I think you are best served filing wiht your auto insurer or getting an attorney.

Indeed, always do that sort of things together with your insurance company or attorney!
