Is there anything that requires a seller to disclose any easements on a property?

My situation is that I bought a vacation home that is part of small condo association (10 units) about 5 years ago. I bought the unit from the owner of a resort that is adjacent to our property. Now the resort owner is turning the resort into a large vacation home property where he intends to sell existing buildings and build several new buildings. He told me that he has an easement on our property that allows all of the owners of his property to use our property (lakeshore, tennis court, etc).

If the resort owner wrote the easement out to himself before selling the properties, shouldn't he have to disclose this when I bought the property?

Also, what would be the most likely location of an easement attached to a property?

Thanks,
JackX

I cannot comment because there are different kids of easements. If an easement is necessary for access to and from the property, or ingress/egress factors, then an easement by necessity or prescription would be allowed. But there is not enough information in your post to really answer this because there may be unique factors about the properties as I note you call it small, that may make this necessary.
