 I work in eastern washington and have a question about what responsibilities a company has when giving revues. I was supposed to have a 6 month revue and as I write it is 4 months overdue. I am being told that 6 months is just a guideline and they will not approve any backpay concerning this issue. Are companies under any washington state law concerning this matter. I am not the only person at this company that has had this happen to. It seems to be a common practice. thank you Derrick!!!

There is nothing in federal or state law that mandates a review of pay for employees in the private sector, unless the reason that the review is delayed is because of illegal discrimination against the employee. Discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national origin, disability, gender, sexual harassment, pregnancy, veteran status, age and any status protected by the state is illegal.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
