My daughter is 16yrs old and has been in my home full time for the last three years. Prior to that her mom and I shared costody and I pd child support. When she moved to washington with me 3 yrs ago, (from Ca) her mom refused to help support her and made me sign an agreement that I would not later sue her for support. Now my daughter is wanting to move back with her mom to Ca and her mom is requiring I pay child support again. While I will always and have always supported her. Where do I go from here, am I going to be required to pay?. She says she does not want to go back to court ( she requested to case be closed with the court) but I don't trust her to make it a verbal arrangment. The aggreement 3 yrs ago is that there would be no support exchanged for the duration. I jsut don't know if it's worth the fight, there is only 2 more years of support anyway. Please help I don't know what to do. Thanks

You can try to come to an arrangement with the mother, but let her know she paid no support for 3 years, so she should not expect the same level of support as before. If you do not trust her, go back to court. THe agreement not to pursue past support can likely be invalidated since she is breaking the agreement to end the private arrangement of not going back to the court. Good luck.
