I work in a very small department in a bank. There are three of us and I am at the bottom of the totum pole. My coworker and I had a good working relationship and then he started having personal problems. He ended up going into rehab and I've caught him in many lies and strange behavior. I don't want to be "friends" with him because of it. Before this happened, I didn't mind the occasional dirty joke. But now he has been rubbing my neck, putting his hand on my back, etc. The other day he said my hair looked hot and started dancing around telling me he had dollar bills in his pocket. This is just one example. I dont know what to do, I feel really uncomfortable saying something to him because I feel like he thinks I've given him permission or something. But I feel sick to my stomach whenever he's in my office. Any advice on how to handle this delicately? I'm one of those people who just kind of lets things slide until I blowup.

There are a couple of things you can do. One, you can let him know that you are uncomfortable with his actions. He may stop. And, two, you can talk with the HR Department confidentially.

Of course, you can always report the issue to the eeoc or the state equivalent. However, in most cases, they will ask you if you have pursued internal resolution.
