I run a photography business and am looking to hire a assitant to help out on shoots.
I received a inquiry from a young lady that is very interested but she may only be 16 and I was wondering what the labor laws on the following three items are:
1) Some of the weddings I shoot are a bit far to drive, shoot and drive back in one day so I would stay overnight and drive back the following day. Would this be alright for a minor to do?
2) Some of the weddings/clients I shoot are located in Washington, are there any prohibitions from transporting a minor to another state to work?
3) Some of the clients want to do lingerie/nudes for their portfolio or husbands/wifes. This is the main part I am concerned with for a minor.
As for her age, she is not sure if she is 16 or 18. She is a refugee from another country and could be 18. When she arrived to the US they created a birth certificate for her but by that date she is 16.
I would very much like to give her a chance to apply for and get the position but am a bit concerned/wary.
If anyone could help I would appreciate it.
