HELP? I have a situation here in Texas where my wife is around 7 months pregnant and her manager has just given her a verbal warning that she might loose her job if she doesnt meet the expectations he has set forth (Which are almost impossible). She has been there almost a year without any problems, made it through all the new hire probabtions with out any incidences and has done pretty well. She told him she was pregnant after 2 months of conception, which has given them plenty of time to absorb the news. She goes to work every day and does her job as she is supposed to with no time off, but now they are crying fowl with "Performance issues" but it seems a little coincidental since she is due in a few months. We try to schedule our doctor’s appointments on the weekend so she doesn’t have to miss work. Also there is another girl in the same corporate position and is also pregnant, but she has received no warnings etc.
The picture that the employer is painting is that they don’t want to pay for any maternity leave nor insurance etc. Does this seem legal???
Thanks for any input.
