Okay I have a friend and she was in a fender bender on sat. She has a bad neck and it was irritated in the accident. She was off of work for a week, her HR Manager called her on wens. and said she needed a doctors excuse, which was fine she already had one and it was until monday (Her doctor wanted to give her more time off but she said a week was fine). Then on thurs. her boss called and said "HE" needed, not the company but "HE" needed a letter from the passenger in her vehicle, a police report, and the name and # of the individual that hit her before she came back to work. Can he do that, can he keep her from not working if she does not produce those things. She has the doctors excuse does she really need anything else.
My friend has worked at this company for 7 years, never been wrote up, never been in trouble and she's a manager, pretty high up in the company. But about a year ago a new company bought out the old one and she has a new boss which doesn't like her, she knows it and so does everyone else. Just wondering if he can do that or if its invasion of privacy since it wasn't on company time, it wasn't a company vehicle, and the other person's insurance is paying for it. Thanks, SMB82
