I hate bothering people on this site with this question but I was wondering if anyone could help.

I was written up for getting one of our guards to work a site. I wasn't told to work the site or that I couldn't get someone to work it. I was called into the office and written up. The write up states I got someone to work and caused that person to get overtime. I checked the guys hours and found out he had under 37 hours. He ended up getting overtime from them not me and I have the paper work to back me up. They have this in my personal file and I don't want a lie in my file. Is there anything I can do? I'm trying to be a police officer and I don't want them telling the Departments BS so I can't get a better job. I was in the office when they told the corrections people that one guard was caught doing drugs when he tried to leave for a job. Man I work for a screwed up company.

I'm just a little confused. Exactly what is the lie that is in your personnel file? Thanks.

That I put a guy into overtime. They actually put the person into overtime that morning right before they wrote me up for it.

The only thing I know is to ask if you can put a "rebuttal" to the write-up in your file.
