Can someone please tell me if there is a law regarding waiving of insurance. Is a spouse entitled to receive money from the company if the other spouse carries health insurance for both. Someone I know has been out on comp since July 2004. The company closed its doors at the end of January 2005. The company did give him two months of insurance waiver dollars, but they did not go back to July. Is the waiver dollars a "gift" from the employer or is something that the employee is entitled to? Thanks. :)

It is considered as a voluntary action on the part of the employer.
