After my wife's interview in May in Arlington, it was requested that she have a Td vaccination which was unavailable when we submitted the paperwork. She complied with this, and we submitted the revised medical record. This package was received in Arlington prior to the date required by the form we carried from the interview (the deadline was July 15...we have a certified mail receipt stamped before this).
Today we received a letter from BCIS, but rather than being good news, it was an appointment to appear in Arlington on August 26 pertaining to "your adjustment of status." The second page of the letter is identical to the piece of paper we carried from the interview, with "Submit updated I-693 Immunization Form" highlighted in pink.
Because the updated record has been received in the building from which the latest letter originated, I can only surmise the package from the doctor never made it to my wife's file.
Of course, we can simply show up on the 26th with a copy of what we mailed and the certified mail receipt, but at this point I would prefer being done with this over an opportunity to waste a day proving we have better organizational skills than BCIS. The worst case is that they can't locate the incoming mail in our presence, and we leave a second time without a stamped passport.
Any suggestions on what to do in the meantime? We have utilized an attorney for this process and will inform her of the situation. I don't hold high hopes that the 800 information line will help, but I suppose it can't hurt either.
Hi:
I don't know the procedures in your particular BCIS office. However,
from time to time, LOS would send out call-in letters like that with the
idea that the thing can best be handled in person.
You might want to go back to the doc and get a new copy from her and
sealed in the envelope.
