I was along with several others where I work harassed by the supervisor where we work. Noone came forward for the longest time because we were all afraid of him because of the way he treated others. One girl finally came forward and then I filed but the others chose to leave before anyone reported anything. The girl who reported it has since been let go and all the witnesses for us have been so intimidated because this man still works here he only recieved a 7 day suspension.I have been on the recieving end of alot of crap from this company and have been second guessed on things I took care of for the last year. I advise anyone man or woman who is being harassed report it, don't go through what I am. I am being forced out of the company.

While I agree with you that there are some circumstances where it is easier just to leave the company, that is not the case with all companies. An employee should look at the applicable statutes before making that decision. If the employer is large enough to be covered by federal laws (which, in most cases, is 15 employees or larger), the employee may file a complaint with the EEOC. By doing so, he/she is also protected by the statute's prohibition against retaliation. In addition, several states expand the coverage to smaller employers.

So, before you give up, check into the statutes. It is important for both your own concerns but also future employees who may be faced with a harassing manager.

I do realize the consequences by leaving I have retained an attorney and am sueing the company for emotional damages, the company I am going to has more to offer, I am under so much stress that I do not sleep at night so I would just rather move on and hope for the best when we go to court, At least I am not just going away and they will never hear from me again,
thanks
