I was indefinitely disqualified from receving unemployment benefits from NJ because I relocated to FL..
The letter stated "You left your job voluntarily to move out of the area. Although relocation is a valid reason for leaving, it is personal. Therefore, your reason does not constitute good cause attributable to work. You are disqualified for benefits.

I have 10 days a Right of Appeal; any suggestions about what should be state in my letter.

I would go ahead and appeal. Oftimes, you can prevail by appealing the decision, especially if you can show that your move was unavoidable. For example, a friend of mine had to move because she became engaged to a man out of her area. While she initially lost her claim, she won on the appeal. Just be sure to go to the hearing and bring any documentation that you feel will support your claim.

Good luck. Let me know if I can answer additional questions for you.

I just read all the info on FLMA, pulled all my documentation. And found my job posted on the web, so I've beat myself up enough about this. I'm going on vacation and then start fresh.. maybe a whole new level. Take a class, work from home. I've been in this hi-tech job so long , I need to deversify. :)
