I have an unemployment question. My son-in-law was recently laid off. He found another possible job, but was called back by the business that laid him off in the first place. Since his new job was not going to start for several weeks, he went back but told his employer that he might be getting another job. They told him that he shouldn't stop looking, since the call back was only temporary. Within a few days, they called him into the office and asked him to sign a paper giving his 2 week notice, since his new job was possibly going to start. However, after signing the paper, they immediately laid him off again without letting him finish off his two weeks. He filed for unemployment and began receiving it, but now he just received a letter stating that because he quit his last job, his unemployment was not only terminated, but he owed money back that he already received. Could he appeal this? This is in Pennsylvania.
