I'm 23 years old and will be having a daughter in june. The mother has recently filed a restraining order against me even though i have not talked to os seen her in months because of problems that she caused about me dating people of my choice. She figures if i can't go near her then i will not be able to go any where near my daughter. Is this true? Also this girls family has enogh money to afford very good lawyers and i can not at all. I'm pretty sure they will try to get it to where i will not be able to see my daughter. Is this possible and if so how do i fight it? I would really appreciate advice in this matter. I just want to be with my daughter.

Once child is born and you are established as Father you can seek visitation. You do not have to see Mom in order to see child although in beginning this will be difficult even more so if she breast feeds

I don't think that she will establish me as the father. How do i go about making sure that i will rights to my daughter.

Go to court and request paternity test

As soon as the baby is born, file in court to establish paternity. Once you do that, she has no choice in the matter, the court will ORDER her to cooperate in establishing paternity.
For now, you can register as the putitive father with the state's Putitive father's Regisrty. Here is a link that will give the address for your state:

There might be forms at the the clerk's office. If not, check your local library (the county might have one or a local law school) and ask the reference librarian with help finding the form.

I would start by asking the court clerk for assistance.

Was she due in June? Was baby early? Did Mom miscalculate?
Make sure you get that paternity test.
And, congrats (assuming you are dad).
