Two days ago a friend and myself went to rent a duplex together. The landlord said that he did not rent to people with criminal background history. Thats why he did background checks. Today I found out that the guy thats in the other side of the duplex was in prison for 2 years. We have not paid a depost. We have not received keys nor a copy of the contract . Can we get out of this lease?
