I have been unemployed since September 2008, and never filed for unemployement compensation until February 2009. I just didn't think that I would be eligible for it, as it turn out I'm. I asked the unemployment office to back date the application to September 2008. The unemployment officee has asked for a legidimate reason, in order to backdate my application and payments back to Sept 2008.
Please help me!!!!

Sorry, but "thinking you would not be eligible" is not a valid reason.
