Q #11 here:

You can see that there is no specific time frame noted. So, you could show up on Monday and say 10% salary cut effective today, and that would be legal.

Your state is not my state, so this will be a soft answer. The general rule of thumb is that wages can be changed on a go forward basis only. If for example (pretending that I am your employer) I was to notify you right now, I could legally change your rate starting tomorrow in most states, but I could not change the rate for work already done. There are some other potential complications. If you are Non-Exempt, I cannot take you below minimum wage. If you are Exempt Salaried, I cannot take you below $455/week (federal). If you have a contract, then the contract wording might be a problem.

I do not know what NM specific rules are. There is a chance that NM might not know what NM specific rules are (some states do not have clear decisions on this matter). In that absence of clear rules, then basically should this go to court, then whatever the court feels like on that day are what the rules are.
