View Full Version : Arlington AP timelines?

Does anyone have recent AP experience with Arlington, VA they wish to share?

We filed a "one step" AOS/AP/EAD on 14 May 2003, checks were cashed 27 May,
but nada since then. Not a receipt. Nothing. Critical for us is the AP
which we need by first week August, so we are curious about others' recent
experience...

I was told that Arlington has recently changed its procedures (as of two
months ago) and historical processing times may no longer be accurate....

Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks so much for that info. Since we filed through our attorneys, we
didn't get the processing times directly from BCIS. Our attorney did
mention about 30 days for the AP, which has long since passed.

I am surprised that Sen. Warner's office could get this process speeded up
so much...Good for you guys.....I wonder if it might be worth trying Eleanor
Norton Holmes's office - any ideas if they are as responsive?

Thanks again...

news:877283.1058537697@britishexpats.com... Flyingscot- We had a problem with my husband's AP when we filed his. They gave us a processing time of 30 days. After that time period was up, and we hadn't receivecd the AP, I got in touch with Sen. Warner's office. I called them at 9am, and by noon I had a call back from the liasion asking if I wanted to go pick the AP up that day or did I want BCIS to mail it to me. The liasion was wonderful and I would reccommend if you have any trouble that you contact Sen. Warner's office. When you filed your paperwork, did they give you a timeframe for each of the applications? In the past when I have been there, there has been a sign out front with the different applications listed and the expected processing times on the sign. I checked Shusterman's website, and it is saying:

WASHINGTON, DC (Arlington)

Permanent Residence - Adjustment of Status

Filing Until Approval (With Interview) 365 - 396 Days

Work Permit ("Employment Authorization Document") 60 - 90 Days

Travel Permit ("Advanced Parole") 30 - 90 Days

I only have good things to say about Sen. Warner's office, they have
been GREAT. Of course, he has been a senator forever, so that might be
part of the reason.

For the record, Senator Allen's office was also very responsive to our
AP situation. It seems Virginia has some good options.

John-

That's excellent to hear. Sen. Allen has a rep come to our town
every three months (I missed the last one, but will make the next
one) to discuss any constituent issues. I plan to discuss with
the representative exactly how long and how involved this whole
process takes.
