I foolishly posted an ad on craigslist looking for a cheaper place to live. One of the people who responded was someone I knew from years ago. So, it seemed like it would work. What I did not see was this person was a total control freak. The deal was to purchase and prepare food, household items, etc, in exchange for a place to live. Right away, he did not like how I did anything. He complained about the cooking and then proceeded to eat everything, etc, you get the jist. Anyway, about 25 days into the arrangement, he went off saying I was to start babysitting his grandkids, sleep with my door open, and admit I was a failure as a parent and my kids were F#$%^ up. (I only had one child living there, he never met the others) So when I stood up to him I telling him to lay off and I was not watching those kids, he became verbally abusive and kicked me out that day. I have no lease but a documented agreement. I have a email, stating those were his reasons he kicked me out. He kept almost half of my possesions, claiming the Police told him I had no right to be there to begin with. I was told by tenants right, that is incorrect, it would be a month to month with no lease. I am filing this week in court. I want some of my items back, I realize I will not get everything, so I made a short list of just what I dont want to lose. What else can I sue for? Someone help! I cannot afford a lawyer
