I'm an employee with Union representation in the University System of Maryland. I have found out that I am soon going to be asked to resign or be terminated. This is happening at the beginning of a grievance process which has been initiated on my behalf by the Union. Any advice on what to do?

How do you "know" that? What does your union rep say?

I know this because the problem supervisor made the foolish mistake of printing an email to the wrong network printer. The one at my left arm on my desk.

I'm waiting to hear back from the Union rep.

It's my understanding that they offer this option because they want to get rid of someone, but don't want the issue to go outside of the department through the grievance process or through the board of labor and such.

It's likely that the only recourse you are going to have is through your union or civil service provisions.

Other than that, I have no other advice, because you didn't share what precipitated this action.
