I work for a company thats policy says i have to take lunch, this is an unpaid lunch. Maryland law states that if it is an unpaid lunch it cannot be made mandatory. It can only be mandatory if it is a paid lunch. The same goes for federal law.Does comapny policy superceed state and federal law, or does state and federal law superceed company law?.
Where does Maryland law say that a mandatory lunch must be a paid lunch? Federal law definitely does NOT say that.

There is no such law in Maryland or any other state. Please post back where you read/heard this.
Nor is there any such thing as "company law". Legislative bodies pass laws; companies have policies.

If your employer requires you to take a mandatory meal break, you must take a mandatory meal break. If your meal period is at least 30 min., you do not have to be paid for this time as long as you do no work during this meal break.
