I'm not sure if comments my manager has said in meetings is sexual harassment or not. On occassions he has made comments during staff meetings asking female employees if it was that time of the month because they were emotional. During a luncheon he was giving his comments about his employees and he said to me that although I have big hair, tatoos and wear high shoes that my appearance may put people off but I'm really a very smart person. Another co-worker told me that he has made the comment "Who's your daddy". He also asked me once if I was happy with my job and when I started to cry he asked me if anyone has asked me if I'm happy at work or at home. I think he makes these comments to be funny and build a team, but it seems inappropriate and I find comments like whose your daddy and is it that time of month offensive. I don't think he makes those same comments to the male employees. I'm not comfortable talking to him about it. Is this type of behavior sexual harassment?

It can definitely be seen as sexual harassment. Check out the following website: www.eeoc.gov (http://www.eeoc.gov). It defines sexual harassment. It also tells you how to file a complaint. Although going to the EEOC is an option, I always recommend that an employee try internal resources first, if they are at all comfortable in doing so. Internal resources may include an HR Department or someone more senior in the company.
