I am in early stages. Filed I-130 two weeks ago, no receipt yet. Does
anyone know the time-line in Texas? How about time-line once you file
to Chicago? Does anyone have any experience with Morocco? Thank for
any help. Leslie

Leslie,

As SOON as you get that receipt from TSC file the K3!!!! TSC
currently processing 130 petitions that were receipted 2 YEARS ago in
June.................Chicago NORMALLY is through in 2 months, but
Morocco another story quite possibly. We do have/had had some other
ladies with husbands/fiances from that neck of the woods. They can
help you out.

Welcome and good luck!

hi leslie,

my name is linda and i am in the last stages of getting my moroccan
husband here with me. i agree with cindy, as soon as u get the receipt,
file the I-129F right away. K-3 is much faster than spousal visa. if u
have any questions feel free to ask. another woman on here just got her
hubby from morocco here and she helped me out alot.

good luck and hang in there.

Hi Leslie:

First, welcome to the NG! You've come to the right place.

Second, ditto what Cindy said re: filing for the K3. Don't waste time
like I did thinking your I-130 will approved anytime soon. My K3
petition was just approved this week as you can see from my signature
timeline. I'll be checking with the National Visa Center (NVC) either
tomorrow or Monday to see if my approval has been faxed there yet. I'm
cautiously optimistic I'll see my husband again in October and bring him
home with me.

Third, we have a few of us with Middle Eastern spouses (my husband is in
Cairo) on the NG a couple of whom who have worked or are working through
Casablanca. Feel free to ask any of us about anything unique to this
part of the world.

Good luck,

Patty Khadijah

Linda,

Any word on when your husband's interview will be scheduled? Has he
received his Packet 3 yet?

My situation is different....I'm filing an 129F petition to bring my
Iranian fiance here from Turkey. Just wanted to say welcome to this
wonderful group of helpful people, and good luck with your process.

Hi Leslie,

My husband is in Morocco (Casablanca), and we started the immigration
process in September 2002. We are hoping for his consular interview in
September 2003. The process has be long, but that is not unusual.

hi patty,

first of all congrats on the approval. i just returned from morocco
monday july 7 and my husband got his packet 3 june 23. his appointment
is scheduled for november 18. i was shocked at the lenth of time. but i
guess with the bombings that happened in casblanca they have to take
extra security checks. i just happened to remember something i read
somewhere that after the petition is approved, u have 4 months to get
the interview. does anyone know about this? it will be 6 months between
petition approval and interview for my husband.

Hi Patty,

Thanks for the input. I am definitely planning the K3 route. How long
ago did you file the i-129F with the Chicago Service Center? Thanks,
Leslie

I'm not going through Casablanca but I am doing a K3. Our
Consulate is Cairo.

I mailed the K3 petition on the 8th of May, the hard copy receipt
said May 12th and my online receipt said May 13th. I received our
K3 approval online on the July 8th. 2 months after I mailed it
in. Hopefully, the hard copy approval will be in my mailbox
tonight or tomorrow.

I called the NVC yesterday for the heck of it to see if they'd received
the file from the MSC yet. They hadn't. So, I'll try again on Monday.
I'm hoping the NVC will be finished with file by the end of this month.

The next big query is when will Cairo schedule the interview. I'd
emailed them earlier and, while they don't open provisional files, they
did agree to send the Packet 3 instructions to my husband early. So,
we're pretty much set to go once Cairo gets our paperwork from the
States. I have created a 3-ring binder for my husband

At this point, we're cautiously optimistic to finally be together around
mid-October (Inshallah). Which would mean about 6 months total for us
assuming there are no hidden bumps along the rest of our journey.

I am shocked by the length of time, too. I was hoping that my husband
would get an interview in September, but since our case is still with
NVC, a September interview probably is not realistic.

Best wishes, Linda.

Katie,

How long has your petition been at the NVC?

Patty,

My I-130 was approved on May 23, and NVC received our paperwork in early
June. I've received the fee bills from NVC and returned my payments.
Receipt of my payments is not yet in the NVC system.

I understand that it takes NVC longer to process the immigrant visa
paperwork than it does to process the K visa paperwork.

Thanks!

Even though yours is taking a bit longer this way, you're better off in
the long run with I-130. At this point, I'll take whatever I can get to
get my hubby here sooner rather than later.

Good luck!!!
