Hi . . .
I am new to this Forum. I am 7 1/2 months pregnant (first time). I am really confused on what I am entitled too & how things work.

I am planning on going out on Disability for the 4 weeks before my due date of April 8th. Does the Disability form get sent in prior too or after I have the baby; what if the date should happen to change? Also, what if I go into labor early; does my 6 weeks start imediately from that? Also, what happens if I go into labor late, like 2 weeks after? How then does your 6 weeks get applied?

Thank you for any feedback!

Your doctor and then your employer should take care of the initial paperwork for the traditional TDI since you will be off before the new program kicks in on 7/1/09. Link here should explain everything;

http://lwd.dol.state.nj.us/labor/tdi/tdiindex.html

You may be able to take advantage of the new benefits as well at some point after 7/1/09. Those details are here;

Be advised that both of these programs are only mechanisms to provide you some income while you are out of work they do not provide any job security requirements.

[QUOTE=Rosema;1021103]Hi . . .

Is your doctor putting you out of work for these 4 weeks or are you planning to just take some time off before you deliver?

Your date of disability is the date that your phsyician determines that you are unable to work. Once you are "disabled" by the phsyican the paperwork can be completed and sent into NJ DOL.
