After working in management for 5 years, like so many others, I was laid off. I am currently collecting unemployment compensation, and have been unable to find a position in my current industry. Since I was having so many dificulties, I took the time to get my Real Estate license, and it will be completed in 2 weeks. Since in PA, nearly all real estate licensees are classified as independent contractors, and since I will not receive any compensation until the close of my first sale, I'm wondering how this will affect my unemployment. Technically, I will be working, but I will not be earning any money until I actually make a sale. Am I still eligible to collect unemployment during this time? I won't be actively searching for a job any longer, and I will be working full time hours. What are the limitations on this?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice!
