I am just wondering if a job site can refuse a doctors note and make you still come into work? This is going on with me right now! I went to the doctors and i have a injured foot. The Doctor gave me a 2 day excuse. I called my work and they said its not their problem and they are short handed and that i have to come in anyhow. I called the other employees and they have not returned my phone calls. I was just wondering if this was against the law :confused:and where do i find the detailed law so i can print it out.
Thanks

What type of work do you do? Do not involve other employees and thus have them risk their jobs!
Unless FMLA is involved a doctor's note has no force in law.

Poster I will P.M you the information you are getting is grossly misleading.
If your injury does not fall under FMLA and is not a disability under the ADA, and from what you have posted it does not and is not, then a doctor's note means as much or as little as the employer chooses, regardless of what Joe is trying to tell you. There is no law other than the two above that gives a doctor's note any legal weight. It may be unwise of your employer to disregard it but it is not illegal.

What does your customer service require you to do? If your foot is injured and you man a phone center your employer may feel you can still work.
