I was terminated for declining to take a urinalysis test. I had been employed for 6 years and was and remained ingood standing with the company. I have never been approached at any time previously for testing (other than at actual hire 6 years ago). When I was approached I hesitated and told the staff that I was not sure if I would submitt to the test. The assistant manager became confrontational and I was sent home without further discussion. I contacted my manager who was on vacation at the time but he also declined to discuss the situation with me. All further attempts to discuss the situation with the company were denied. Aproximately 5 days after I was sent home I was terminated. Can I qualify/receive unemployment benefits in the state of California given I was terminated for declining the test.
