As a 7 year employee of this retail establishment, I have been an excellent
employee, never calling off, and doing basically what was told of me. Within the past year, some medical problems: lower and upper back problems, carpel tunnel syndrome surgery, and other minor problems have plaqued me. However, I have learned to do things differently to get the job done, and to minimize my pain. I have never asked anything of my employers until recently when asked to do something my doctors asked me not to do. This has never been a requirement of my job, simply something "added". I have obtained a doctors note, restricting what it is I can do. My immediate boss does not want to abide by this request, stating he doesn't understand why I can't do what is required of me and that this "just doesn't make sense". He wants me to go into detail of my medical problems and even so, would probably not go along with my doctor's request. Is this legal and what can I possibly do about this. I'm fearful that if I do what is asked, my health will decline, and I may have problems which will prevent me from doing my normal work.
