:confused: I am 6 1/2 months pregnant and my current employer in California has laid off over 150 people in our center, as they are moving to Texas. I have been informed that I will lose my insurance a month before the baby is due. COBRA seems to be the only option at this point, because my doctor does not accept Medi-cal. Are there any OTHER options at this point? I was under the impression I have a pre-existing condition that the insurance has to cover, no other insurance co. will accept me. Also can I be eligible for disability insurance even though I am being laid-off? Thank you for you time.

One option is to get another job offering insurance benefits before your current job ends...the sooner the better. Your pre-existing conditions will be covered as long as you do not go without company medical benefits at any time between the two insurance plans.
