I am new to this site, so sorry if this question has been asked a million times before.

We are currently in the process of rewriting our leave of absence policies after integrating with another company. Their policy is to place maternity leave employees on Cobra if they have exhausted 12 weeks of FMLA and go into an unpaid status, regardless of whether they have transitioned to CFRA baby bonding. From what I've read...it seems as though medical coverage must be continued while employees are covered by CFRA??

Thanks!

An employer must continue health care coverage for employees during their CFRA leave

If the employer provides health benefits under any group health plan, the employer has an obligation to continue providing such benefits during an employee's CFRA leave. This obligation commences on the date leave first begins. The obligation continues for the duration of the leave(s), up to a maximum of 12 work weeks in a 12-month period
