 I have worked for this Michigan company for 2 years and I Drive at night..During the winter sometimes blizzards are so bad they call off the route..if I am 'at home' I don't get paid?????? so anyway the other morning I came off night shift and went to bed expecting to work that night, while I was asleep the company called another driver in to take the vehical in for repairs (problems I was having during the previous shift) when i awoke I was informed by the other driver that it was in for repair and the repair man will call when its ready...I waited then called dispatch...not ready yet got dressed and ready to go for my regually scheduled trip and still did'nt hear from dispatch so I called the mechanic...said it won' be ready, found out today because I was at home and not laid over somewhere else I won't be paid?????
Is there any law in Michigan concerning this?

I see nothing illegal here. You don't have to be paid for time not worked.

thanks for the reply, I just thought that I should be paid because its a company problem that took away my shift though no fault of my own.

It would be nice of them to pay you but they are not required to by law.
