[/COLOR]I'm sorry, this has been posted twice by mistake. I tried to delete one but I don't know how. From a Pa resident who works in Ohio. I'm trying to locate if there is any info out there as to wether or not legal action should be taken against my daughters manager who has physically handled her to the point of leaving bruises. My daughter is of legal age (23) She works for a chain restaurant in Ohio. With Ohio being an at will state for employment, she does not want to make waves and lose her job due to this. Her immediate manager grabbed her by her forearm and drug her into the kitchen just to make her wash dishes. (although they can make her do anything, she was hired as a waitress) She complied with the managers order and continued to complete her shift before coming home and showing me the bruise left on her arm. Obvious finger marks left bruises and a finger nail mark. She has had mutiple other problems with this same manager since her hire but as the law goes, I told her she would just have to suck it up. If it were not the weekend I would have her see the Dr. so that the bruise could be put into medical records. I can't really send her to an emergency room for this? When she went back to work today I advised her to politly see the main manager and state that she just wanted the situation put on record. The main manager told her he would not take the complaint and that he only takes customer complaints. he told her she would have to call a 800# from the office and her manager was the only one who could unlock the office and place the call for her. He would not give her the # himself. The manager who would have had to do this was the same manager who physically handled her. She knew that if she went through with pursuing the call, that she would inturn be fired, so she left it alone and worked her shift. As I said she has had problems with this same manager since the day she was hired. No reason as to why. Other employees have told her to watch her back, stating that this manager has told them that she will "get rid of her one way or the other." Therefore she is sure to watch everything she does to the "T", even with a smile on her face. It a shame that she should have to put up with even that. I know due to her age, I cannot do anything on her behalf but she is asking my advice. Is a police report something that should still be filed at this point in the game? It has been two days now since this occured. She really needs the job with the economy being what it is, or I'd have her just leave. They have already cut her hours to almost nothing but it's still better than no job. Just to clarify things as far as some may be thinking it's just be how my daughter may behave at work. There are mutiple lesser managers at this place being that it is a large establishment and she has no problems with anyone else there, manager or otherwise. Can anyone tell me what or how I should advise her to handle this. I wrote an email to their corporate office explaining but I have to wait till Monday to get their reply. Thanks for your time. Sorry for this being so long.

Okay, surf the web and find the main corporate number.

Ask the switchboard there for the 800 line.

When she calls the line, have her not only describe the situation but also the manager's prevention of her getting and using that number.

Tell her not to quit.

I have been sitting here hoping for a responce from someone on what to do. I did the web surf thing but I couldn't come up with any numbers, only an email contact us link. That much I did but I have to wait till Monday for them to get back to me according to their automated reply. Thanks for the advice and your time. :)

ginapa, didn't you post this exact question in another sub-forum?

Please don't post in multiple forums; it only serves to confuse the responders and split up the responses. Thanks.
