Hi, I know that school district taxes are required to be withheld from employee's payroll (this requires looking the address up for each new hire to ensure they have filled out the ohio IT form correctly) and that the employer is responsible for this payment even if it is not deducted. My question is, does this also apply to Municipal (sometimes referred to as city or local taxes) if the employee does not inform the employer of this?
I have come to learn that some employees are not aware that they are even required to pay (or file a return!) for these taxes.
Any information about these taxes would be greatly appreciated!
