I have worked for a company for 15months. In Sept my father passed and I took 4 days off for the funeral. When I returned I had a meeting with my department head who informed me that my duties were changing and I would be required to clock in and out and I had to work longer hours and they were taking over most of my work. Last week I was off with the flu and when I returned on Monday, I told them my husband had to have a heart cath done the next Tuesay. On Friday I had another meeting with my department head who said I would no longer be salary or get commission but be hourly and changed to another store with different but similar duties. They said it was for economic reasons and didn't want to lay off employees. This company has no sick time and now I will have to go with my husband knowing I won't be paid for the day, plus I am now losing $300-$500 a month commision. Is this legal?
