as a small business owner I want to ensure that I am complying with all of the rules and regulations involved with my employees. Can you give me a website or phone number for the correct labor board for California. I have been browsing the web but can't seem to find the answers to all of my questions. We have an issue with an employee who recently quit and I need to get some answers quickly.

I always like to start with the California state portal. The US Department of Labor is also helpful.

California is a very complex state, from the employer perspective. There are a myriad of employment regulations, with a number of different agencies involved with the enforcement of those regulations.

If you can give a few more specifics, re: the type of question you have, we will be able to point you in the right direction.

Of course, you'll also find information on California and federal resources on the poster that you are required to utilize in your place of employment. For posters, you can refer to labor law posters at www.LaborLawCenter.com (http://www.LaborLawCenter.com)

It's great hearing about an employer who wants to ensure compliance. I look forward to hearing from you.
