I work in Colorado and was told by my supervisor that i was considered for a promotion but not given the promotion because I had a young child at home and the other person considered does not so it was given to her instead, is this legal? Can they do this to me?

Colorado is not one of the few states that prohibits discrimination on the basis of parental status. Parental status is also not protected at the federal level.
