I have 3 weeks left of my unemployment (original claim) and the UIA website says that something will be mailed for an extension by December 12th - I have yet to receive any paperwork for an extension and i'm starting to get very worried.. I have tried to call unemployment and due to a high call volume you cannot get thru.

Does anyone know if you automatically are qualified for the extension when your original claim runs out?

We're getting a lot of questions about this but honestly, I doubt any of us are going to know any more than the state agency can tell you. If you don't hear from them by the 12th, there's still all this week to go, then you can try calling again. I'm sure the lines are being bombarded.

Well, the 12th isn't until Friday. If you go into the office, take a thick book and lunch. :)
