Hi, I'm terribly confused. I was served an Unlawful Detainer today because last month my rent check bounced and I owed fees. I paid the rent for that month and told the property management place that I would pay the fees with this months rent which I was going to pay today. I have to note that $50 of the fee is an amount they said I owed from August. In September, October and November I was never told about this $50 until my check bounced. Btw, my check bounced because I deposited my paycheck the day before and I guess it takes 2 days to clear. The bank returned the fee they charged me for that.

I'm going to answer the Unlawful Detainer but I'm confused that I might get evicted this month. Should I still pay the rent today?

Please help.

There is another fee the person who cashed the check is charged. The Federal Reserve system charges this amount.

Ok, this doesn't make sense. The lady from the property management office said that the $50 was due from August 2007!
