I have lived in this apartment for two years. First year is with one roommate, the second year is with another roommate. After I left the apartment, the landlord charged us around $200 for painting the two bedrooms. Can they do that? They never painted walls during my two years of lease. I don't get benefits from painting. I just don't get why they charge me for painting. I mean, other normal repairs and cleaning are reasonable, but painting?
in addition, the landlord only charge us for a single payment. I barely in touch with other roommates, and they are also in the contract with me. The landlord said if we don't pay the money, he will damage our credit. So, even if I pay my portion, I can still be damaged of my credit?
Thanks,
