Your services no longer needed! This is what I was told ten minutes before my shift ended. To make a long story short, a employee named Bert had put in his 2wks. Bert is an asset to the company (also a friend) so the boss wasn't just gonna let him go easily. Their was a offer for him to stay which involved me. The part that involves me is I would move to his (Bert) department to get away from my current supervisor. Which we didn't exactly see eye to eye. Well Bert does not accept the offer they tell him to leave immeditely the next business day I get the axe. Can they do this?

You can be terminated at any time for any reason except a reason prohibited by law (ie race, religion, age) unless you have an employment contract or CBA to the contrary. There was nothjing illegal done here. It's just like you could have quit at any time for any reason.

This might have been unfair but it wasn't illegal. Sorry. File for unemployment ins. & look for other employment.
