Before I moved in I saw that management had left something stating that they had exterminated my unit. After writing a certified letter to management in July because of the pest problem, I was told that I could not terminate my lease because I didn't give management enough time to remedy the problem. Okay. August 22nd I sent another certified letter stating that I wanted my lease terminated because there were still roaches in my unit and management didn't exterminate like they said they would since the 1st certified letter. Now it's to the point that they are crawling on my children. I explained in the 2nd certified letter that management had breached their contract by not getting rid of the roaches in a timely manner. From July 3rd to August 21st my unit was sprayed once. I was told by the property manager that my unit would be sprayed weekly. I took pictures of the roaches, caught them and kept them as evidence. I am still seeing roaches. I called the Corporate office, because they also received certified letters, and told the person over management that I needed to be let out of my lease without liability and that my lease is up in December so why couldn't it be done since according to their own agreement they are in breach of contract. I was told that they just couldn't do it. What can I do? I have followed the steps according to their agreement and they still won't comply with letting me out of my lease.
