I was recently accepted into a Inflight Training Program with well known airline. September 07 i went for a Group interview. I was invited back for 3 one on one interviews in October. A week later i received a phone call saying I had been accepted into the Inflight Training and placed in a "Pool". In the first week of September 08 i received an email saying my Number had come up for Inflight Training.

I arrived in Dallas, attended training and three (3) days later, I was released. The reason i was given was I did not meet "Appearance Standards".

Prior to training I resigned a $50,000 annual job. Knowing i had a chance of being released due to academics, I never dreamed i would be released due to apperance. I was not asked to perform any emergency requirements.

Keep in mind i have 4 interviews with this airline and not one time did anyone say anything about my appearance. I haven't gained any weight, my height is the same.. as is my hair style. I can still wear the same suit i wore to my interviews.

Would like to know if anyone has any information that might help me.

I don't know what their "problem" was with your appearance but personal appearance is not a protected characteristic in Texas.

I know you quit your job for this training but I don't think you would have a case for detrimental reliance since it seems you knew there was a possibility of not getting a definite job offer with the airline. Also, Tx. normally doesn't recognize detrimental reliance or any of the 3 major at-will employment exceptions for private employers.
