I recently went out on medical leave for heart palpitations (I have atrial fibrillation and this was a pre-existing condition), and was granted FMLA for 12 weeks however was repeadetly denied Short Term Disablity pay from the insurance company, mainly due to my doctor not sumbitting records on time. They were subsequently submitted. Do I have any recourse? I had a cardiac condition that was aggravated by stress and could not work at this time. What do you suggest I do to appeal their decision? Thank you.

The insurance company should have an appeal process and should be able to tell you how to go about filing an appeal.

Also, I know zip about MA, but most states have an insurance commissioner or attorney general who can take these types of complaints.
