i work for a company (as a salaried employee). my hours are 7am to 5 pm. (hours written in stone). now thats 50 hr's per week. here's the killer. if i were to take a couple hours off for something my employer docks me. but what she's docking me from i cant understand. any legal advise ?

My first advice is to start your own thread. Your question is not at all related to the question the original poster had.
If you are a salaried, exempt employee, you get paid the same amount for each work week. You may be docked pay for taking full days off for personal reasons.
If you are a salaried, non-exempt employee, you should get overtime for working more than 40 hours a week, but your pay could be docked for not working, unless you are being paid on the flexible work week rules (you need to be told that in advance) or, less likely, the odd Belo plan.

So what exactly do you do? "Salaried" by itself is merely a pay method. Both exempt and nonexempt employees can be paid on a salaried basis.
