I filed my expense reports late due to personal issues with my divorce and my employer refuses to reimburse expenses that came out of my pocket claiming they were filed late and company policy does not allow them to pay. This is costing me $6k out of pocket. Do I have any recourse?
There are two states that require business expenses to be reimbursed as a matter of labor law. TX is not one of those states. There is a possibility that if you filed a small claims or general court action, that the action would be successful.

Employment laws won't help you, but you could file in court for your costs. The amount owed to you would mean that it would not be a small claim in my state and you would have to get an attorney to represent you.
You could take the amount owed to you off your taxes, but the bad news there is that it simply reduces your taxable wages and you don't recoup all of the costs.
