I have a friend of mine working for a large company in Missouri. This is what's been happening... the company just got a new store manager within the last month and he has instituted some new changes. One of the things that has changed is in regards to scheduling.
An employee is scheduled to get off work at 10pm but the doors to the store get locked, precisely at 10pm, and management refuses to open them until 11pm when all employees are off the clock. The 10pm employees are given an hour of overtime for this, but are required to take a long lunch later in the week to compensate for the overage.
Can this be right?
Is there any recourse?
