A few of us reported to work, our supervisor who is responsible for opening the building was not there, we could not get into the building. Tried and could not reach her or her supervisor. We left after about 30 minutes. Now she wants to write us up and claim job abandonment. Help please. Can she do this?

If you are asking, is there a law that would prohibit her from doing so, no, there is not. No laws would be violated if she writes you up.

But I would suggest that if she does so, you speak to HR or to her manager about it.

You should be paid for the time you waited too.

Good point, TheRed, I should have mentioned that. Thanks.
