I work as a salesman at a car dealership. My GSM has set weekly goals, and he states that if we do not meet these weekly goals we will not get our scheduled day off. I get a small salary + comissions. I work 47 hours a week,6 days a week. Can he take away my day off for not hitting his goals? Please help.

Legally, yes. Although I can't imagine trying to meet car sales quotas in this economy. :(
Not the question, the OP keep track of all hours worked and make sure that they are getting paid at least minimum wage.

The question was, could the OP be required to work on his scheduled day off. I did say it was legal.

Yes, he can.

Agreed. However if the OP is working for a "small salary" plus a commission which is likely to be zero, and required to work a lot of hours to make that "small salary", the chances that the OP is being paid minimum as is required by law is not good. So while that is indeed not the OPs question, I am going to suggest that just maybe it is the OP's issue.

i am not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes. i am employed by a small local retailer. this employer has me come in 10-15 minutes before my actual start time and does not pay me for this. is this legal? i know it's only a part-time barely-above-minimum-wage job, but it's the principle.
thank you

It would have been better if you started your own thread. I have a couple of questions to ask you before I respond.
